Founded in 1993,the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University is a large-scale tertiary A-level hospital. lt is also the site of the Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Health, the National Respiratory Medicine Center, the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Respiratory Diseases, the Guangzhou Laboratory Clinical Base, and the National Key Laboratory of Respiratory Diseases.
In 2018, it was selected as one of the first batch of units for Guangdong Province's "Climbing Plan" and the national "Project for Enhancing the Diagnosis and Treatment Capabilities of Difficult Diseases." In 2020, it became the main construction entity of the National Respiratory Medicine Center, undertaking the tasks of dealing with provincial, municipal, and national emergent public health events and emergency medical rescue missions.Especially in the fight against SARS, avian influenza, and the COViD-19 pandemic, it has made significant contributions to the nation and society,won the trust and reputation of the masses domestically and internationally.
In the "Best Hospitals in China Ranking,"our hospital, as the only city-affiliated hospital in Guangzhou, has been listed among the top 100 best hospitals nationwide for 13 consecutive years, with the respiratory specialty being ranked first among its specialties for 13 consecutive years.
